FPC

FPC=Flex Printed Circuit.

Just as there are different structures and sizes for PCAP touch panels, PCAP touch panel FPC designs are different as well. Below are the characteristics of PCAP FPC:

The number of ITO traces embedded in touch panels is dependent on panel size, the larger panels are, the more traces the panels have.

The location of the FPC is usually on the long side of the touch panel, the shorter the FPC is, the better the touch functionality.

A PCAP touch panel can have two or more FPCs,

We use a ZIP connector for the PCAP COF tail to reduce the size and height of the system connector.

CoB: controller on Board. The projected capacitive touch panel and control board are separate units. IC is integrated on a board as controller board, and FPC is functioned as connected lines.

COF: Chip on Flex. the controlling IC is mounted on a FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit). The COF PCAP is easy to integrate into mobile devices because it needs less space in the system.
